About Dr. Lisa Johnson
Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Toronto school of dentistry in 1999, after which she went on to work in private practice for 13 years. During 8 of these years, she owned and operated a dental practice in a rural community in Ontario. She returned to the University of Toronto in 2012 to complete a 4 year degree in oral pathology and oral medicine. During her specialty training she also completed a Masters of Science degree. In 2016, she relocated to Halifax, where she took an assistant professor position at Dalhousie University. Her duties at Dalhousie include research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and managing the oral pathology biopsy service. She has a clinical practice at Citadel Oral Surgery in Halifax and at the Victoria General in Halifax. Her special interests include mucocutaneous conditions, epithelial dysplasia, and oral cancer.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association. She is a member of both the Canadian and American Academies of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. She serves as a representative of CAOMOP at the Canadian Dental Specialists Association. In her spare time, Dr. Johnson enjoys hiking, climbing and trying her hand at some artwork.
